Checking WarHammer Quest

After the interesting but somewhat unknown Hunters saga of iOS, Rodeo Games and Games Workshop join forces to bring to the AppStore a role and fighting turn-based strategy adventure based on the classic board game. We went from the detailed figures in table ‒a that many dedicated hours and hours of painting and pincel‒ a touch interface and overhead view not without forgetting the bases of such popular game, with boxes for moving and several movements per turn. Maybe Warhammer Quest is not the deeper RPG experience, nor offer the level of strategy of the greats of the genre; even its history can be bland. Still fun, and how! It is a brilliant adaptation with the classical spirit of the franchise intact, with a multitude of possibilities in full combat and an infinite number of dungeons while we ended up with the most dangerous enemies. We see in our analysis if this long-awaited adaptation convinces to fans of the classic Warhammer and adventures in general.



The objective of the game is not one that lead a brave group of warriors through a series of dungeons based in the Warhammer universe, in search of glory and riches, ending all kinds of enemies as Orcs, goblins or trolls, among others. We control our heroes through various rooms, in which we will have to face fighting shift against multiple enemies at the same time; Luckily we have a group of up to four distinct characters, each of them with strengths and not as bright. Thus, the barbarian will be very useful in clashes over short distances thanks to its great brute force and its good handling with sword and other weapons; the dwarf will also be quite skilled with weapons, using quick and forceful strokes. On the other hand, we have the grey Wizard, a powerful wizard capable of resorting to the most destructive magic, as well as to heal teammates, and the forest Elf, ideal for attacks to distance thanks to his bow and arrows, although it will be an easy target at the hands of our enemies at short distances.

Thanks to the skills of our four heroes, we can devise all kinds of strategies according to the enemies that we are and the different configurations of the dungeons; ambushes, direct attacks, training... The possibilities are almost endless and will provide a good range of options for more experienced players to devise and implement their best tactics. Thanks to our victories in combat, we will obtain gold that we can invest in improving our heroes, as well as buy all kinds of potions, equipment and weapons, while we got level in places intended for this. That Yes, we must be prudent and not to waste our income, since fighting was tightened considerably as we move forward in our fantastic adventure.

In this sense, we have three levels of difficulty: easy, adventurer and hard, the latter only reserved for the brave and foolish, since if our warriors die, they will do so on a permanent basis; It is here where the strategy to become the most important element, since the minimum error or a faux pas can be finished with our group of fulminant way. Fighting developed apace despite keeping the classical configuration in shifts; When it touches us move, appear on the ground classic boxes, with which we can place our heroes in the desired location and begin combat with patting on our objectives, as well as the drop-down menus, all in an intuitive and easy way.
